Sunday Ramblings -Aire Ville Spatiale

Ecologia has always been one of my favourite places, and it's great to see some major new works since last time I visited. It can be confusing. There's so much to see and it's not all laid out for you in a familiar fashion. For me this is the great attraction. While the art works are the main feature, if they were exhibited in another place and another way they might lose some of the impact they achieve here.
It is such a pleasure to visit a place where the architecture is an integral part of the display. It's great curating, and the very best way to use the tools available in Second Life.
We often see good art plonked into extraordinarily dull spaces or into a situation where it has to compete for attention. Such is not the case here. Sledge Roffo's sculpture 'Rebuild' (below) shines as we come on it unexpectedly in just the right place.
There was lots to see. I particularly liked Alpha Auer's 'Uranomeria' (below). Reading the notecard is a must for understanding the full context and conceptual underpinnings of the work, but it can also be enjoyed and understood on a purely superficial, experiential level.
I need to go back and explore more. There was much I didn't see, or didn't go into in depth.
My attention was taken by Rod Mandel's beautiful 'Pool', and I ran out of time. There's a machinima of my interactions with this work HERE:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ronr2qb8ITM
